Faq's
The most common Questions
How fast can you get us married?
Sometimes the same week, and sometimes the same day, depending on my schedule and one Texas rule most people don't know about. Texas requires a 72-hour waiting period between the time you get your marriage license and the time you can legally marry. Three common ways around it: one of you is active-duty military, you get a waiver signed by a judge, or you complete the Twogether in Texas premarital course (which removes the wait and saves you $60 on the license). So if your date is close, grab your license at least three days ahead or take that course. Not sure how it works? Text me and I'll walk you through it.
Is my marriage legally recognized in Texas?
Yes. In-person services result in a fully legal, recognized Texas marriage when you present a valid marriage license and complete it properly. Virtual ceremonies are performed under Texas law when at least one partner is located in Texas.
Do you provide marriage licenses?
No. You'll get your valid Texas marriage license from any county clerk before your appointment. We don't issue licenses, but we do sign them.
What happens to my license after the ceremony?
I sign it. From there, you can return it to the county clerk yourself, or add our license return service and I'll file it for you with tracking. License return is included with the Minute Chapel and Simply Eloped.
Do we need witnesses?
No. Texas doesn't require witnesses for ceremonies or license signings. Guests are optional depending on the service you book.
Marrying for immigration, or need it recognized abroad?
I also run an apostille and notary service, so I can authenticate your marriage certificate and help with name-change paperwork. Just ask me when you book.
